Why It Matters That Women Feel Seen and Celebrated

When I began photographing women for Sundari Women, I didn’t realize how deeply it would affect me. What started as a way to capture beauty and strength has become something much greater: a calling to make sure women feel truly seen and celebrated, at every age and in every chapter of their lives.

Part of why this work means so much to me is because of my own journey. When I lost my brother, my world shifted. Grief has a way of stripping everything down to what truly matters. It taught me that life is fragile, and that we don’t get to hold onto people forever. It also reminded me that love, presence, and the way we choose to honor one another is what lingers long after we’re gone. His death changed the way I look at life, I no longer want to skim its surface. I want to dive deep, to celebrate, to listen, to see people for who they really are.

That’s why Sundari Women exists. For me, photographing women isn’t just about taking a beautiful portrait. It’s about capturing a woman’s truth, her resilience, her laughter, her wisdom, her light. It’s about offering her a mirror that reflects back not just how she looks, but who she is. I want every woman who steps in front of my camera to walk away feeling recognized, valued, and cherished.

We live in a world that so often tells women they’re not enough or that their value fades as they age. I reject that. I believe every woman carries beauty in her story, and I want her to feel that beauty fully. When we are seen and celebrated, we don’t just feel stronger ourselves, we give others permission to do the same.

For me, this is legacy work. I want the women I photograph to leave behind images that future generations will look at and say, this is who she was, a woman of courage, depth, and grace. My brother’s absence reminds me every day that life is fleeting, but it also drives me to live fully, love deeply, and celebrate others while they’re here.

Sundari Women is my way of saying to every woman: you matter. You are seen. You are worth celebrating
