Finding Sanctuary Within: My Daily Practice

Every morning, no matter where I am or how rushed my day is, I dedicate at least five minutes to set my intention. Rising early, typically between 5 and 6 am, I begin my day by taking my dog for a peaceful walk. Once back home, I prepare my tea and settle into my morning practice—meditating, journaling, chanting, and then sitting quietly in contemplation.

I created this daily ritual out of love and grace for myself. As someone who naturally tends to worry and overthink situations, this practice has become essential. Having experienced significant triggers from childhood trauma, I needed a consistent source of love, peace, and truth within myself, especially after losing my beloved brother. As I healed, my morning practice became non-negotiable, my foundation and sanctuary.

Within this sacred time and space, I explore my emotions and identify areas needing extra care. It provides me an opportunity to process and release anything that's troubling me and to nurture my creativity. Journaling, in particular, allows me to bring my personal thoughts, creative ideas, business insights, and manifestations to life. Connecting deeply with the calm center of my soul and my higher self brings clarity and tranquility, grounding me firmly.

Without this practice, I feel like a leaf in the wind, directionless and overwhelmed. While meditation might not be everyone's preferred method, I firmly believe we can all benefit from a grounding practice. Whether it's walking, fitness routines, therapy, journaling, yoga, or meditation classes, finding what grounds you is vital.

Life inevitably presents challenges and unexpected curveballs, but having an internal foundation enables us to stand firmly in our truth and grace. Instead of being controlled by external circumstances, we can thoughtfully explore our reactions and grow through whatever comes our way.

I invite you to find and commit to a daily practice that resonates with your heart and soul. Allow yourself the gift of presence, patience, and gentle reflection. Remember, building a foundation that supports your emotional and spiritual well-being isn't just beneficial, it's transformational.
