There is something very different about photographing men. So much of what makes a man compelling in a photograph isn’t a perfect smile or a perfect pose. It’s his presence, his character, the way he carries himself.

When I photograph men, I’m looking for all the different sides of who you are—the strength, the vulnerability, the confidence, the intensity, the warmth. Sometimes the smallest change in expression can reveal something completely different.

Working with actors for more than 35 years has taught me how important it is for a headshot to feel like you, while also showing the range of characters you can portray. I’m always looking for those subtle shifts—the different expressions, energies and sides of you that allow us to create a collection of photographs with range, while still being unmistakably you.

That’s what I want to capture: not one version of you, but the many different possibilities that are already there.
